The DVI analogue, as well as digital formats, are non-interchangeable leading to non-functional of DVI-D on an analogue system neither a DVI-A on a digital system. Similarly, you will have to use a DVI-D to VGA converter in order to connect an analogue monitor to a digital output.
The manufacturer’s official DVI instruction indicates that the DVI must maintain the signal within 5 meters or 16 feet. However, many manufacturers put larger monitors and stronger cards further un-establishing the maximum level of length. There are many instances of usages of more than 25 feet long DVI cables through the maximum length mandates 5 meters or 16 feet. It is a matter of fact that going beyond the specifications and instructions of the manufacturer is subject to the uncertainty of functioning depending on the hardware.
